Application Deadlines and Language Requirements

We highly recommend language skills of either B2 in German or English (depending on the field of study and inter-institutional agreement).

As the academic year is divided into two semesters, you can choose to come to Giessen in either the Winter Semester or the Summer Semester, or for the whole year.

Both for the University as such and for accommodation in our halls of residence, the following application deadlines apply:

  • Summer Semester: 15 December
  • Winter Semester: 15 June

The following documents have to be submitted before the deadline:

  • Transcript of Records (or equivalent certificate of your home institution in English or German)
  • Learning Agreement
