The Academic Sports Services (ahs) offers numerous courses every semester.
Regional sports clubs are also happy to welcome new members.
Local initiatives
The World University Service runs a programme of extracurricular activities and social/cultural events (STUBE Hessen)
catering specially to students from Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
Local student church organisations, Catholic (Katholische Hochschulgemeinde Gießen (KHG)) and Protestant
(Evangelische Studierendengemeinde (ESG)), offer a variety of programs for contact, information,
and culture, regardless of religious affiliation.
And the Erasmus Student Network Giessen (ESN) invites not only exchange students to participate in its joint activities.
