Modelling Polysensitization: From Bedside to Bench

23 October 2013, Venue: ECCPS seminar room, Aulweg 130, Giessen In this guest lecture, Dr. med. Anna-Maria Dittrich presented her research on polysensitization. She started her scientific career at the Robert-Koch-Institut in Berlin and is presently head of the pediatric cystic fibrosis center as well as principal investigator of an independent research group at Hannover Medical School. She and her group carry out research on immunological mechanisms and mediators which influence sensitization in the context of different allergological and lung diseases. Anna-Maria Dittrich received the renowned Emmy Noether research grant from the DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft) for a two-year research stay at the Yale University School of Medicine, USA. She has been awarded various other prizes, such as the Fast Track Grant from the Robert Bosch Foundation for women in life sciences and the Christiane Herzog-Preis for cystic fibrosis research.
