Cary 5000 by Agilent Technologies

  • Double-beam spectrophotometer for absorption measurements in transmission or reflection geometry
  • Spectral range: 175 – 3300 nm
  • Light sources: deuterium arc lamp for the UV range and tungsten-halogen lamp for the visible/NIR range with automatic changeover
  • Detectors: R928 photomultiplier tube for the UV-Vis range and cooled PbS detector for the NIR range with automatic changeover
  • Spectral range: 175 – 3300 nm
  • Transmission measurements for thin films and liquids (incl. optical density determination)
  • Diffuse reflection measurements for solids
  • Inert gas chamber for diffuse reflection
  • Nitrogen purging available for the monochromator and sample compartments (reduction of air absorption features in the deep UV region)
