for Research in Social Sciences, Business, Economics, and Law

- for GGS Early Career Researchers -

Thanks to initiatives by the Dr Herbert Stolzenberg Foundation and the presidential office at Justus-Liebig University, for the second time the GGS will grant two awards for supporting early career researchers in 2024. Both awards are endowed with €1.500,00 each. They are are meant to acknowledge and reward researchers at the PhD and postdoc level who have stood out for their excellent achievements in research and their outstanding commitments to their respective disciplines.

Here you can download the call for applications for the 2024 award.

The deadline for applications or nominations was February 20, 2024, therefore submissions are no longer possible.

The next call for applications is expected to be published in December 2024, as prizes will also be awarded in 2025.

You can either nominate an early career researcher at the GGS or apply yourself. To apply for yourself, you need to currently be a member of the GGS at either the postdoc or PhD candidate level - or you need to have been a member at either of those levels sometime in the past two years. The achievement to be awarded must also have taken place during this period and at JLU Giessen.

The award ceremony for the Dr. Herbert Stolzenberg Prize will take place during the GGS Summer Festival on June 19, 2024. The award winners will be contacted in good time. The GGS would like to thank all nominees and applicants for their outstanding submissions so far.

The previous award winners can be found here.
