Information on the use of Zoom

Regulations on the use of Zoom:

• The licenses/abonnements must be acquired locally via the institutes of the JLU. The HRZ will not acquire them for you.
• The HRZ can not offer support for the use of Zoom.
• The use of Zoom underlies the condition that it will be used and configured in compliance with data protection laws as well as the rules and regulations of the JLU. The holders of the respective Zoom licenses/abonnements will be held responsible in this regard. • Any licenses or abonnements acquired by members of the JLU must be reported, stating the extent of the license/abonnement, to this e-mail address: meldung-zoom@lists.uni-giessen.de
• As part of trial run, the use of Zoom is authorized parallel to the use of Webex (until the 14^th of June 2021), at the end of which Zoom users will be asked to fill out a questionnaire. The HRZ will make this questionnaire available in spring of 2021.

The HRZ offers the following alternatives to Zoom, the use of which is free of charge for members of the JLU:

• Cisco Webex
• Microsoft Office 365 / Teams
• DFNconf (Pexip)
