Good Scientific Practice for Life Science Postdocs
For you as a scientist, it is crucial to know about authorship issues, plagiarism, data manipulation and other ethical issues. Take the chance to deepen your understanding with this course. As a postdoc, you are starting to supervise younger scientist and your responsibility for safeguarding Good Scientific Practice increases substantially. The workshop will help you to understand the scientific system, its norms and values, and your position in it. During the workshop, you will also learn what regulations exist and how to apply them properly. We will focus on how to implement good scientific practice, learn about documentation, data management and the role of leadership. The main focus will be on postdocs from the life sciences; others are welcome.

Participants of this course will learn about the specific situation as postdoc in the scientific system and your responsibilities concerning good scientific practice:
- develop awareness of good scientific practice
- apply measure to safeguard good scientific practice
- know and avoid pitfalls concerning good scientific practice
- understand the purpose of guidelines and to discuss their topic confidently with other members of the scientific community.
