Presidents of the DFG and the DAAD are staffed by JLU representatives

The Giessen biochemist and physician Prof. Dr. Katja Becker was elected as the new president of the German Research Foundation (DFG) at the beginning of July. She will henceforth be at the top of Europe's largest research funding organization in Germany. From January 2020, she will replace Prof. Dr. Peter Strohschneider and take over initially for four years.

The President of the Justus Liebig University Giessen (JLU), Prof. Dr. Joybrato Mukherjee, was already elected as new president of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in June. From January 2020, he will replace the DAAD President Prof. Dr. Margret Wintermantel.
