“Making Women in Science Visible” - science-inspired art by Palina Kot

RTG member Palina Kot is not only a passionate scientist, but also quite an artist. On Monday, October 13, we celebrated the opening of her first exhibition, “Making Women in Science Visible”, at at JLU Giessen.

With the art work in this exhibition, Palina wants to foster a dialogue between science and art — for her, art is not only a form of expression, but also a tool for reflection. "Art allows us to think about science in new ways, to confront questions of visibility, diversity, and equity, and to remind us that behind every discovery there are human stories", Palina says.

The exhibition is organized by the non-profit organization Faden e.V. and the International Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture (GCSC) and supported by Science Support JLU Gießen and the Claussen-Simon-Stiftung. It will be on view until November 9, 2025, at Philosophikum I, building A.
