Windows Hello

A good method to ensure high password security while conveniently logging into your own PC is to use Windows Hello. Windows Hello allows local login via PIN, facial recognition, or fingerprint recognition (if supported by your hardware). In combination with a complex password, a four-digit PIN provides sufficient IT security.

Setting up Windows Hello on Windows 10/11:

  1. Open the Start menu and select Settings.
  2. Choose Accounts > Sign-in options.
  3. Select "Add" under PIN.
  4. Enter and confirm your PIN.
  5. Enable optional settings such as "Use Windows Hello for sign-in and after sleep" (optional).
  6. Click "OK."

Additional Notes:

  • You can change or remove your PIN at any time. To do so, go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options again and select "Change" or "Remove" under PIN.
  • You can also set up Windows Hello with a fingerprint or facial recognition.

The setup of Windows Hello should be largely self-explanatory. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
