Sofware deployment with Baramundi
Baramundi is a software solution which allows software updates to be applied automatically, without the need for users or administrators to take action. In addition, users can install common software pre-selected by HRZ or decentralized IT on their workstations without the need of administrative rights. For several months now, new PCs have already been delivered with Baramundi pre-installed. The software still needs to be installed on existing devices.
An installation guide (in German language only) as well as an installation package are being provided by the IT service center (HRZ). Both can be found here.

Important Notice
In some cases, it may be advisable to forego the installation of Baramundi on laboratory computers. If, for example, you have laboratory computers that need to collect measurement data unattended for several hours at a time, please contact us at it@fb09.uni-giessen.de, and we will attempt to work out a solution together.
