The picture shows the new MBraun Glove-Box of the Institute of Physical Chemistry. The Box is filled with dry argon atmosphere. This allows us to handle moisture and oxygen sensitive materials in the box. In our case this is materials for Lithium-Ion-Batteries and Ionic Liquids. The box has water and oxygen sensors which constantly measure the water and oxygen concentration in the box atmosphere down to the low ppm region. In the following weeks we will install a coulometric Karl-Fischer-Titrator in the Box. With this titrator we can precisely determine the water content of liquids and solids which only contain a few ppm of water. Picture submitted by H. Buschmann
