The surgical and apprentice blacksmith collection includes hoof and claw specimens in the form of horn capsules, bone specimens (primarily hoof bones), formalin specimens, old plaster/plastic models, horseshoes (orthopedic and historical), wall instructional panels, old billboards, display cases with tools and stud models (display models from the 1950s), old plastic shoes, and insoles. The collection is regularly used for training in blacksmithing and for student education.
